CSU Monterey Bay is conveniently located on California’s Central Coast. The campus is located less than a mile away from sand dunes and the ocean and is two-hours by car to world-famous San Francisco and Silicon Valley. And of course, Monterey is home to the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, just a short drive from the CSUMB campus. Where else can you enjoy both kayaking in the ocean and hiking the beautiful Big Sur coastline in a single day?

California State University, Monterey Bay students enjoy all of the possibilities provided by large universities in a personal environment. Students have the opportunity to develop intellectually, while studying and socializing with American students. The trustworthy faculty get to know their students as individuals as well as students.

CSUMB is a small residential campus focused on student learning with a great faculty. CSUMB is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, with over 1,300 acres of land (5,260,000 square meters) and fewer than 6,000 students, there is plenty of space for both learning and leisure. Situated directly adjacent to the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary, CSUMB is home to quality outdoor-recreation opportunities and close to some of most beautiful beaches and ocean scenes in the world.

More international students choose to study in California than in any other state in the United States. With one of the best climates in the world, California offers great recreational opportunities in a diverse cultural setting.
